How to get started with your blog

A post exclusively for the newbies who get stuck or need ideas on how to get started 🙂

  1. Research – till you find what exactly you want to write and how far you can write about something
  2. Practice, practice, and practice – You may seem to be a topper, but you still need practice. with practice, you will be able to understand what your audience expects from you. Plus, it helps you understand your writing pattern too 🙂
  3. Use other blogs are reference materials – not reproducing material
  4. Make sure you know what you are waiting
  5. Make sure you understand your audience for whom you are writing
  6. Writing requires dedication and patience. Make sure to keep yourself motivated
  7. If you wish to practice, then start writing on platforms where you can get responses. This will help you improvise and get some amazing tips too! – why not start writing on your wordpress blog? kickstart! 🙂
  8. Be ready to prepare your mind for all kinds of comments – good or bad – The idea is to not take everything to heart
  9. Add relevant pictures and info-graphics to your blog – visuals hit the human eyes more effectively than long paragraphs
  10. Headlines – catchy enough? make sure you write headlines that are not only relevant but are also catchy. Helps you get more readers
  11. Keep your content as relevant and to the point as possible
  12. Try starting with one topic and then move on to other topics – this helps in maintaining continuity
  13. Focus on what you write. Writing is meant to spread love, joy, and happy moments – not hatred
  14. If you are planning to write informative articles / technical articles, make sure you do a thorough check before publishing it as your words may impact the end reader’s view on the product/functionality.
  15. Make sure you don’t spread false information about anything. Post only if you are 200% sure and have verified facts – nobody likes Whatsapp university forwards, please
  16. Try to keep your blogs crisp and engaging – if it’s too long, then write it in parts. This will not only keep your readers waiting for more, but will also appear more engaging.
  17. Make sure you don’t use content that is plagiarized or restricted. Snipping tools work fine, but nobody likes to be cheated or not credited for their work – correct? 🙂
  18. Your blogs will be more engaging if you first give an introduction about yourself. Everyone loves to understand the writer before reading their blogs.
  19. Make sure you promote your blogs at the right platform – helps you get famous faster! *winks*
  20. Try to remain consistent. Writing continuously for 3 days and then vanishing is not a good idea. If you can write only three articles, then make sure you publish them in gaps, so that your reader also understands your pattern or writing and publishing blogs.
