Skincare | What a wrong skincare selection can do to your skin

7 Billion people, 7 billion skincare tips, and 7 billion results! While most of the tips work like magic, there may be some tips that may backfire!

While choosing a DIY face pack, it is extremely important to know the type of skin and its reaction to new ingredients. With my skin being extremely sensitive, I normally try on a patch before directly trying on my face.

Also, I ensure that I do not try to experiment with different ingredients so try to follow the same pattern every time. Today, I tried a similar face pack and on the verge of bringing the best results, I altered the ingredients used in the face pack. The result? It backfired terribly!

Instead of my skin becoming soft and supple, it ended up being itchy and irritable. What made it worse? the pack got stuck to my face and it took me almost 30 minutes and an entire tube of face wash to remove the pack off my face!

With this experience, I thought of writing a post to explain what mistake I did and what are the consequences of the mistake!

What did I use?

  • Activated charcoal powder
  • Vitamin E capsule
  • Rose Water

I mixed everything and applied a thick layer on my face. I allowed it to dry and that’s when I realized that something was wrong. My face became extremely sticky and no matter what I do, the pack won’t wear off! Finally, after numerous attempts, I managed to get off the pack, but my skin started peeling off due to the reaction.

I am kind of clueless about what went wrong, but I am not using this combination next time! 🤦
