Mental Health | You are not alone

Everyone has a different story. Some are strong enough to bounce back immediately after a setback while some may take days, months, or even years to overcome

Nobody is wrong when it comes to mental health. It’s just that different people feel differently and in this battle, nobody is alone! Nobody is weak, and people can move mountains, forget recovering from illness.

All of us go through a phase where we feel stressed, frightened, or sick for no reason at all. While some of us may be strong enough to wash it off our minds, some may need help to wash that load off the chest. Does this mean you are weak? does this mean you are alone?! No. This means, that you are strong enough to accept that you need help and trust me, it needs guts to open up and ask for help.

Nah! this cannot happen to me. I am not an attention seeker! I’m a cool easy-to-go person. If this is your mindset, may god be with you! If you are bold enough to accept your mental health, then you are one of the strongest individuals as it’s not easy to accept!

Coming to mental health, your health cannot always stay the same. It can change as quickly as seasons and can also change as you experience new instances in your life.

Depression is not a type of mood.
Depression is not an attention-seeking activity.
Depression is not self-pity.
Depression is not what is shown in movies as well!
Depression is something that can make you feel numb, worthless, and even lose hope without any reason!

I completely agree that the world still does not accept and consider mental health as seriously as physical health. Yes, you will be judged, laughed at, ignored, and advised on it! But, didn’t I mention earlier that it takes guts to accept and open up? So yes – if you are in a situation where your illness is not accepted, then you are at the right place as there are some things which cannot be changed, and the only change what you can do is to ignore the criticism and work towards your well-being – which is also called as “self-care”. Selfcare does not mean Selfishness! it simply means you are going to give yourself the same love and attention that you freely give to others.

Think and recollect the days, the moments, and the memories where you have crossed oceans for the ones who were not worth it. When you can do so much for the ones who are not worthy, why can’t you do something for yourself, and show some love on yourself to be the best version of you?

Remember, you are not alone in this and numerous people are going through the same. The only way to overcome this is by asking for help. Ask. Connect. Share. Feel good ❤️
